A Queens man was killed after a fire burned through his home late Thursday night, police said.
Mario Dimisa, 74, was discovered by firefighters in a home on Riverside Drive in Whitestone early Friday morning after a fire broke out there shortly before midnight.
Firefighters battled the blaze but were unable to save Dimisa, who was a resident of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The FDNY was still at the two-story home in Whitestone Friday morning fighting the fire, which was on the first floor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
