NJ State Senator to Schedule Hearing on State Marijuana Laws

New Jersey State Sen. Nicholas Scutari says he's taking the next step to void New Jersey's proposed medical marijuan regulations.

Scutari and other advocates for medical marijuana say the rules drafted by the administration of Republican Gov. Chris Christie are so strict that legitimate patients might not be able to get the drugs that would help them.

In November and December, lawmakers passed resolutions declaring the proposed regulations didn't meet their intent.

The resolutions gave the administration until Wednesday to submit new regulations.

But Scutari, a Democrat from Linden, says the administration did not comply.

Scutari said he's scheduling a hearing, which is the next step toward voiding the proposed rules.
