3 Arrested at McCarren Park Pool

The incident marks the latest in a series of troubles that have faced the pool since it opened last month

Security was high at the McCarren Park pool Wednesday, the day after three men were arrested for alleged disorderly conduct after a fight broke out, police said.

The incident marks the latest in a series of troubles that have plagued the pool since it opened last month, including unruly crowds attacking lifeguards and cops punched in the face.

No injuries were reported in Tuesday's incident. In that case, Gothamist reports lifeguards temporarily closed the pool because a group of swimmers refused to stop doing back-flips.

The pool had nearly been cleared when a few swimmers jumped back into the water and a fight broke out, the website says.

Antquan Lomax, 23, Ronald Crouthers, 24, and Jamaar Gordon, 24, were all handcuffed and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Lomax and Crouthers were also charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Lomax was the only one of the three additionally charged with harassment.

Information on their attorneys wasn't immediately available.

Police stepped up security at the pool after a lifeguard who told swimmers to stop doing back-flips was attacked on the second day it was open.
