Manhattan Man Gets 19 Years for Wife's Murder

A Manhattan man has been given 19 years to life in prison for stabbing his estranged wife to death in a parked SUV in 2008.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance announced the sentence for William Davila Thursday.

The 48-year-old Davila pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder. His lawyer didn't return a message seeking comment.

In May 2008, the body of 44-year-old Leonida Nunez Davila was found in a parked SUV in SoHo with multiple stab wounds to her throat and chest.

Prosecutors say an order of protection against Davila was found in the car, next to her body.

Davila was arrested after surrendering to police in the Bronx two days after his wife's body was found.
