Robber in Red Bandanna Targets Manhattan Banks: NYPD

Police are searching for a serial bank robber in a red bandanna who's targeted at least three Manhattan banks since Saturday.

Surveillance video in one of the robberies shows the suspect walking up to the teller, slipping a piece of paper through with one hand, then pocketing cash and calmly walking away as other customers wait in line behind him.

The first robbery was at a Chase Bank at 130 Second Ave. in the East Village at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. He got away with $1,080, according to police.

On Monday afternoon, he robbed a Citibank at 1107 Broadway in Flatiron and got away with $600, and less than an hour later, robbed a Chase bank at 835 Broadway and fled with $4,740, police said.

In each case, the suspect was wearing a baseball cap, glasses and a red bandanna around his neck. Surveillance video stills also show the suspect on the subway.
