Man Tried to Lure Kids Into His Car Using Fidget Spinners: Police

A man tried to lure a couple of kids into his car in New Jersey by offering them fidget spinner toys, cops say.

Police say on Thursday just after 9:30 in the morning, a customer at the Quick Check on Cliffwood Avenue in Laurence Harbor bought snacks for two children and tried to get them to get into his car by giving them hats and fidget spinners.

One child felt uncomfortable and notified store staff of what happened, according to the Old Bridge Township Police Department.

Staff members intervened, and the suspect said the children were going with him, police said. The employees told the man to leave and he left the area.

The 20-something-year-old suspect was seen driving a Toyota, possibly a Corolla, according to authorities. He was wearing a gold Yankees hat, sunglasses and a red shirt.

Investigators released surveillance images of the man in the hopes somebody will recognize him and call police with tips.
