Man Slashed With Box Cutter, Punched in Robbery at Manhattan Deli: NYPD

A 38-year-old man was slashed and punched in a violent robbery at a Manhattan deli last month.

The victim walked into the deli on Madison Street on the Lower East Side around 2 a.m. when one of two suspects started to argue with him, the NYPD said.

The suspect took out a box cutter and slashed the victim’s neck and face, police said. The struggle made its way outside the deli, where a second suspect punched the victim several times on the head.

The suspects took the man’s backpack and fled.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police released surveillance video of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
