Man Accused of Carjacking Family in Their Own Driveway, Holding Child at Gunpoint

A man has been indicted in the carjacking of a New Jersey family in the driveway of their home as they were unloading luggage from a Thanksgiving weekend vacation.

The New Jersey attorney general's office announced Tuesday that 30-year-old Ahmed Anthony of Newark faces charges including conspiracy, carjacking, robbery, and terroristic threats. A listed number for him couldn't be found and it's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Authorities said the family was unloading two vehicles early Nov. 27 when a man grabbed a 13-year-old girl in a chokehold and threatened her life. Another man who appeared armed demanded keys and cash.

One man drove off in one the family vehicles and the other fled in waiting minivan after the other vehicle wouldn't start. Police later found the stolen vehicle.
