A Brooklyn father allegedly held his 9-month-old son under such hot water in their home bathtub that the boy's skin fell off within minutes and the tub water turned brown, according to a criminal complaint.
Andre Madden faces assault and child endangerment charges in connection with the attack on his son at their Pitkin Avenue home Saturday.
According to the complaint, Madden told investigators he put his son Malachi in the tub, turned on the water and held the little boy's arm and shoulder while the baby cried and struggled to break free.
A doctor who examined Malachi at a hospital the next day said the boy had second- and third-degree burns on his feet, the front and back of his legs, his genitals, stomach and elbow, and that his injuries were consistent with being held under hot water for a period of time.
The doctor said the burns will leave the child permanently disfigured.
Information on an attorney for Madden wasn't immediately available.
