MTA's Art Programs Win Awards from National Transit Group

The American Public Transportation Association gave one of its AdWheel awards to the MTA's Arts for Transit and Urban Design

The MTA's arts program has won some awards from a national transportation group.

The American Public Transportation Association gave one of its AdWheel awards to the MTA's Arts for Transit and Urban Design for its art cards and poster program. That's the program that commissions visual art for subway cars and station walls.

The AdWheel awards are for communications and marketing efforts and were handed out at the group's annual meeting at the beginning of the month.

The MTA program won a grand prize in the print category for systems with more than 20 million annual passenger trips.

Another MTA offering, a mobile app that shows people how to get to the various works of art in subway stations, took first place in a subcategory for mobile apps.
