Police say a Long Island high school student has been hospitalized after a fall from a third-floor window.
Suffolk County police say the Walt Whitman High School student was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital on Thursday.
South Huntington School District Superintendent David P. Bennardo said the student is in stable condition.
"We are just praying for the youngster," Bennardo said.

He said the school is focused on counseling students and supporting the student's recovery. He said "there are indications" the unidentified male student jumped.
Bennardo said crisis counselors are at the school.
The school was on modified lockdown during the incident. He said indications were a teacher was not in the classroom when the incident occurred.
