Manhattan Resident Recounts Home Invasion Ordeal

Man says armed men tied him up along with two other people in the house at the time

A linen manufacturer says two men pointed a gun at him when he answered the door to his Manhattan apartment, trying him up and two of his visitors.

George Bardwil said the men -- one armed with a semiautomatic handgun -- used twine and telephone cord to bind their hands and then robbed them of their wallets and jewelry on Monday afternoon.

When a housekeeper interrupted the robbery, she also was tied up.

According to various news outlets, the owner of Bardwil Industries said one of the robbers went to a bedroom safe and removed jewelry and several designer watches, including a diamond-encrusted Louis Vuitton.

Bardwill said he believed the robbers seemed to know where things were. He said they also disabled a surveillance camera.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
