An 11-year-old New Jersey girl who was home alone hid in a closet during a burglary, and screamed when the suspect forced his way into the bedroom and pushed open the door, police said.
The child was not hurt in the robbery in Evesham Tuesday afternoon, police said. Authorities say she saw a male knock on the front door and then force his way in the back door.
The girl locked herself in the master bedroom and hid in the closet. The suspect fled when he opened the closet door and found her there, police said.
Authorities believe the robber was looking for jewelry. He remains at large.
