Singers belted their hearts at Citi Field in Queens for a chance to win the New York Mets National Anthem Search.
Sixteen finalists were chosen from hundreds of contenders and got a final shot to impress the judges Monday.
Men and women, young and old gave it their all. Some finalists simply sang the national anthem a cappella while others played a tune on keyboards and other instruments.
The winner will get to sing the national anthem in front of a fan-filled stadium this 2010 baseball season. The panel of judges will chose a winner in the coming weeks.
As for the fifteen hopefuls who are not chosen, they will not walk away empty handed. Those who do not win will receive a pair of tickets to a future New York Mets home game.
