Falcon Stirs Up Chaos at Wall Street, Is Fed Strips of Bacon

The denizens of Wall Street were joined by a wayward falcon apparently looking to make his presence known in the Financial District.

The falcon swooped into Lower Manhattan on Wednesday, and confounded NYPD officers' efforts to capture it by flying away as police cordoned the area. The New York Post reports a specialist with the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology identified the bird's species as a young peregrine falcon.

Doorman Ricardo Gibbons says people were surprised the falcon flew off as police officers attempted to capture it in a cage, because he thought it was sick or injured.

Coffee cart owner Dalia Abdullah says he gave the bird four strips of bacon because it looked hungry.
