A New Jersey woman says she is frantic with worry after her car was stolen Monday morning with her 10-year-old dog inside.

“My heart was ripped out of my chest,” said Lisa Villacari, whose black Hyundai Sonata was taken from the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Nutley, N.J. around 11 a.m.

Inside the car was Villacari’s Maltese, Valentino. Villacari said she had left the car running and the air conditioning on as she darted into the 7-Eleven on Passaic Avenue to grab a bottle of water.  She came out to see a young man pulling away in her car.

Villacari called the police quickly after the incident and she told NBC New York today there might be a possible lead on her missing pup’s whereabouts. She said the dog is on antibiotics and needs to take his medication.

“He’s my baby. He’s been treated like my child. I’m just praying to God that they find him,” she said.
