Police have arrested a man accused of punching six women in the back of the head in southern Brooklyn over the course of two months, including attacks to three women in their 70s and a mother walking with her 7-year-old daughter.
Barry Baldwin, 35, is charged with six counts of aggravated assault as a hate crime and one count each of aggravated harassment, attempted assault and menacing, the NYPD says.
Baldwin is suspected in attacks on six women in Canarsie and Midwood between Nov. 9 and Dec. 27, police say.
He’s also suspected in seventh attempted attack, where a suspect swung at but missed a woman on Seaview Avenue on Dec. 26.
It’s not immediately known why Baldwin was charged with hate crimes in the attacks.
It’s also unknown whether the 35-year-old has an attorney.
