A New York City teen is getting credit for writing an uplifting poem that has been getting a lot of attention on social media in the United Kingdom, according to Mashable.
The site reports that the poem apparently written by Brooklyn 11th grader Chanie Gorkin was posted on a wall in a bar in London and has since gone viral.
The poem, which starts with the downbeat line "Today was the absolute worst day ever" gets more and more depressing as readers make it through the lines, but a surprise at the bottom turns the composition's meaning on its head.

Since an image of the poem was tweeted, several news outlets have written about it as it has spread across the Internet.
