Man Beaten Outside Bronx Restaurant in Possible Bias Attack: Cops

A man in his 30s was attacked outside a Bronx restaurant by a group of people who allegedly spewed racial epithets before assaulting him, and police are investigating the case as a possible bias crime, authorities said.

The victim was standing outside of the Applebee's on Exterior Street in Melrose at about 11:30 p.m. as a group of people was passing by. Police say one man in the group walked up to the victim, uttered what's believed to be either an anti-Arab or anti-Muslim remark, and punched him in the face.

The Post reports
the beating continued until the victim was barely conscious.
 
Police say he has pain and swelling to his face, but no serious injuries.
 
No arrests have been made.
