Autistic Bronx Boy, 8, Found After Going Missing on Trip to Coney Island

An 8-year-old autistic boy was found after he went missing when he boarded a subway car and the doors closed before his siblings could join him.

Romeo Richardson, who has limited ability to speak, boarded the 5 train in the Bronx at about 7 p.m. Saturday for a trip to Coney Island, his family said. The subway car door closed, leaving behind his 13-year-old brother, 9-year-old sister and 7-year-old cousin.

By Sunday afternoon, the boy had been found, said community activist Tony Herbert.

His mother was home at the time Romeo went missing.

Police did not immediately release details on the case and how the boy was found.
