Alleged Cop-Sodomy Victim Knifed in Street Fight

Argument prompted by fight over gal, paper says

There has been more trouble for a Brooklyn man who accused cops of sodomizing him with a baton in a subway station.

Tattoo artist Michael Mineo was hospitalized yesterday afternoon after he was stabbed in the arm during an argument in the street, police say. An ex-con apparently bumped Mineo's gilfriend and a shouting match ensued.

"The girl let it be known she was bumped and upset," a woman who witnessed the fight on Willoughby St. in Brooklyn told the Daily News. "The guy she was with wanted to be chivalrous and went back and forth with the first guy."

Authorities say a 41-year-old man is under arrest in the stabbing. Witnesses said the suspect, identified by cops as George Alejandro, grabbed a knife out of his back pocket and attacked Mineo. Mineo warded off the blow, which was aimed at his kidney, and got stabbed in his left forearm, reports the News.

Cops caught up with Alejandro, who allegedly was drunk, in the subway and charged him with assault. Mineo was taken to Kings County Hospital.

Although the violent encounter appeared random to witnesses, Mineo's lawyer, Stephen Jackson, said his client and Alejandro may have known each other.

"He said to him, 'I know you," or something to that effect, and threw a couple of epithets," Jackson told the News.

Mineo filed a $220 million lawsuit against the city over an incident last year in which prosecutors say he was held down and sexually assaulted by police after a short foot chase.

Three officers are awaiting trial in connection with the incident.
