2nd Suspect Arrested in Death of Queens Grandmother Shot After Opening Door

Police have arrested a second suspect in the death of a 70-year-old woman who was fatally shot in the head after answering her front door in Queens in March.

Sahel Green, 19, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the March 31 shooting, the NYPD said.

Leta Webb was fatally shot when she opened her South Jamaica door. Authorities say her shooters may have done so to get some type of retribution against her 28-year-old son, Arnold Webb, who is serving a 25-year sentence on a 2011 manslaughter conviction and is not up for parole until 2030.

The circumstances surrounding Arnold Webb's conviction weren't immediately clear.

Leta Webb was shot twice -- once in the head and once in the left arm -- after opening her door in the middle of the night. A relative said he heard a loud knocking and was on his way downstairs when he heard the gunshots. He said he found Leta Webb in a pool of blood.

Leta Webb was taken to Jamaica Hospital in serious condition; she later died there.

Julian Douglas, 22, was arrested in April on the same charges.

It wasn’t clear if Douglas or Green had attorneys who could comment on the charges.
