DC sniper John Allen Muhammad is scheduled to die by lethal injection in November.

The leader of the two-man sniper team that terrorized the Washington area in 2002, killing 10, has a November date with the executioner.

John Allen Muhammad, 48, who with teenage accomplice Lee Malvo went on a murder spree that spanned four states and D.C., was sentenced to death by lethal injection for the murder of Dean Meyers, who was killed at a Virginia gas station. The killers evaded capture for several weeks because the shots were fired from the closed trunk of a specially-rigged car using a rifle with a silencer.

Last month, a federal appeals court rejected Muhammad's argument that prosecutors withheld critical evidence and that Muhammad never should have been allowed to act as his own attorney for a portion of his trial because he was too mentally impaired.

Malvo, who testified against Muhammad, is serving life in prison.
