What You're Doing Tonight: 2/16

Getting cozy with Janeane Garofalo, chatting to Chip Kidd, and swinging with bluesy Ernestine Anderson

ONE-ON-ONE: The Upright Citizen's Brigade's Inside Joke series is basically Inside the Actor's Studio, except that in place of James Lipton, there's Carl Arnheiter, and in place of, say, Sarah Jessica Parker, there's a comedy legend. Tonight, it's Janeane Garofalo. 8PM.

GRANDE DAME: Ernestine Anderson may not be mainstream-famous like her semi-contemporaries Sarah Vaughan or Ella Fitzgerald, but she can swing with the best, and with more nuance, too. She takes the Blue Note stage at 8 and 10:30PM.

BICURIOUS: It's not enough for Chip Kidd to be the most famous book-jacket designer ever, nooo. He has to write them too. He'll discuss his latest novel The Learners at the Columbus Circle Borders with Sharp Teeth's Toby Barlow. 7PM.
