Rumors: LVMH Looking to Sell Kenzo

Just as French fashion brand Kenzo gets set to celebrate its 40th anniversary, news has emerged that parent company LVMH may be looking to sell the brand.

Though LVMH reps refused to comment on the rumored transaction's viability, market sources have told WWD that potential buyers are being very selectively scoped out in hopes a lucrative deal can be reached. Considering LVMH doesn't exactly have a cash flow problem right now, it's suspected that the company would be pretty choosy about any potential deal, and it also seems equally likely that the company would choose to hold onto Kenzo, which the company initially acquired in 1993 for a little over $80 million, according to WWD.
