Yankee Stadium, Citi Field—let's forget about those new inner-city stadia with their paltry 50,000+ capacities. Instead, let's head across the Hudson to fabulous East Rutherford where, by the looks of this new WCBS 880 photo gallery, the $1.6 billion new Giants Stadium (capacity: 82,500) is chugging along in advance of its 2010 opening. Hey, speaking of the new Giants Stadium, the Jets recently auctioned off the personal seat licenses—the cost paid for the right to buy season tickets—for the two best seats in the house, and a mortgage broker shelled out $400,000 for the pair. The Post caught up with the (lucky?) buyer, who'll still have to shell out $7,000 per seat per season for the actual tickets. He said, "Although part of the mortgage business is in turmoil, this is an opportunity to invest in my business - and to further demonstrate our loyalty to the New York Jets." Hopefully that loyalty will be returned when Brett Favre is looking to buy a Jersey McMansion and needs a loan.
