R.J. Cutler's documentary about Vogue, The September Issue, has secured movie-theater distribution in North America. A&E has the rights to show the film on television after its theater run. And just to be cute about it, the distributor, Roadside Attractions, will release the movie in September. That's just seven months away and ripe for a Fashion Week premiere tie-in. This calls to mind the time a couple of years back when our favorite fashion movie to date, Lagerfeld Confidential, the Karl Lagerfeld documentary, was in theaters. We'll never forget the big-screen awesomeness of watching Karl change into a kimono and patter around on his airplane. We can't wait for Anna's kimono moment. Not to mention André Leon Talley's.
