Blogger extraordinaire Daphne Guinness.
While we enjoy frozen sidewalks and 19-degree temperatures, fashion icon Daphne Guinness is sunning herself in the Dominican Republic with Oscar de la Renta. In her leisure time she's reading Hamlet and blogging, with playful use of caps. Yesterday she revealed that she is not in fact on the editorial board of Pop, as Bauer Media announced last week:
[I]t was so FUNNY to read on the web that I am on the new board of Pop Magazine with Dasha Zhukova and my friend Ashley Heath. It was flattering but not true I am afraid. It came as a complete surprise. A complete misunderstanding! That is the nature of the web.
Oh the internet can be so SILLY. Ashley Heath, Pop's editorial director, told Fashionologie Daphne "is still working on a very interesting and exciting special project" for the magazine. The rest of the editorial board, which includes French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld's daughter, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, has yet to blog anything similar to Daphne, so we'll assume their appointment was consensual and that they're still on board. Heath said the editorial board is not to be confused with the masthead, but will serve as "guardians of our POP universe," and that the board will "probably function better next year and beyond." Yeah, as long as they stay away from Wordpress.
