Following this morning's report that Daniel Boulud — D-Bigs to some — would be hosting D.J.’s at his forthcoming downtown beer hall, we dropped a line to the chef's communications department in hope of getting some clarity on said madness. Spokeswoman Georgette Farkas answered the call: "I think the spirit of the b-day bash had db's enthusiasm flowing along with the wine. Sorry to say, there will not be a live dj @ DBGB Kitchen and Bar (official name!!!). We're keeping things a little more low-key than what you would expect from a place with a live DJ. That said, DB's good friend Dean Santon (not a pro DJ — just guy with great music sense) will be programming our downtown ipod. That's what DB was referring to at the b-day party as Dean was there dj'ing the fête." As for the most current opening-date projection, Farkas tells us "late May."
