Monday Mix: Hear New Big Troubles, Mr. Dream, Toro Y Moi

Three New York-area artists share new tracks on this breezy Monday -- here are our picks.

The dudes at RCRD LBL have been doing some real nice things for New York lately. Between throwing awesome parties on the Rockaway Boardwalk and premiering some great NYC bands, the site is  really shaping up to be a favorite music outlet of ours. Today, RCRD LBL brings us the premiere of a new track by Brooklyn's Mr. Dream. It's an aggressive, jittery number called "Moneybags" and you can hear it right here.

Pitchfork debuted a track from New Jersey's dream-poppers Big Troubles. It's appropriately called "Sad Girl," an almost-depressing lament on giving up on love, to "put a hole in my head." It's a sentiment that contradicts the gossamer melody and bright guitar -- and that's what makes it work. Check it out here. The band's new album, Romantic Comedy, drops at the end of next month.

Last on the list, U.K. minimalhouse producer Star Slinger put out this dancehall remix of Toro Y Moi's "New Beat," standout track from Underneath The Pine. It's a somewhat thin reinterpretation, considering the instrumentation Moi's Chaz Bundwick used on Pine. But then again, it really is a welcomed, left-field mix of the track. It's below.
