Interpol Fan Rushes Radio City Stage

Local indie titans Interpol had a successful homecoming at Radio City Music Hall last night, inspiring one fan to leap onto the stage during the band's encore and hug frontman Paul Banks.

Audience capsule reviews of the show were uniformly solid on Twitter, but a flaxen-haired Interpol groupie drew her own notices. "Interpol rocked Radio City, best part some blonde girl prancing on stage to hug the singer during the encore," tweeted one witness. Another asked "what was with the crazy blonde?" after complimenting the performance.

A setlist loaded with fan favorites might have had something to do with the spontaneous crowd participation. Or maybe it was just an unusually aggressive audience, one that didn't take too kindly to opening act School of Seven Bells. Following their set, the electro-shoegazers tweeted, "Thanks to all the @Interpol fans for the love! And to all the meatheads that heckle us- your venom only makes us strongerrrr :) ha."
