Federal Judge Tosses Lawsuit Against Obama Health Care Plan

For those keeping score at home, it's now 3-2 in favor of preserving President Obama's health care law. In Washington on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler threw out a lawsuit brought by the American Center for Law and Justice, a Christian legal group with ties to TV evangelist Pat Robertson, challenging the Affordable Care Act's mandatory requirement to purchase insurance. Three of the five plaintiffs brought the suit on religious grounds, arguing that God provides for their health and well being and that purchasing insurance would violate their faith. Kessler is the third Democrat-appointed judge to toss a suit against the law; two Republicans have upheld challenges.
