(Endless) Summer Restaurant Week Will Run 'Til Labor Day

More than 200 restaurants have signed on to keep serving their RW menus until summer’s end

Hey, don't you love Summer Restaurant Week Month Season? So do we.

We were all sad that we didn't get to sample enough of the tantalizing, ultracheap dishes being served up for Summer Restaurant Week -- a puzzling $24.07 for lunch, $35 for dinner -- before the event ended on July 31, but we shouldn't have! Because as it turns out, Restaurant Week in New York City is like encores at a Phish show: every time you think it's over, they come back for more. First, a smattering of establishments made noise about extending the offer, and now comes news that an overwhelming number of eateries have agreed to prolong the deal clear through to Labor Day. Just like last year.

So to recap, the beleaguered restaurant industry still wants your sweet, sweet recession dollars. Check out our Summer Restaurant Week pick series here.
