Andy Warhol once said that in the future, everyone will be gawked at for 15 minutes while they sunbathe poolside at luxury hotels on the once poverty-stricken Lower East Side of Manhattan. Or maybe we're paraphrasing. Whatever the prediction, neighbors of the new Thompson LES seem to enjoy sending us construction photos of the hotel's pool, which overlooks Orchard Street. Some serious progress has been made since last time, including the installation of the mural of Warhol lining the bottom of the pool. Looks like this thing should be ready just in time for the LES to revert back to tenements and despair.
