U.S. Homeland Security agents arrested a man from the Bahamas on federal charges of hacking into the email accounts of numerous individuals in the entertainment, sports, and media industries, court papers filed in federal court in Manhattan say.
Alonzo Knowles, 23, was arrested in Manhattan Monday after meeting with an undercover law enforcement agent, officials said.
Knowles is accused of hacking into the email accounts of the celebrities and then stealing copyrighted movie and television scripts, personal identifying information and private sexually explicit photographs and videos, the court papers say. The court papers did not identify the victims.
