It seems like every band and actor in America wants to be associated with Fox's breakout musical comedy, "Glee."
That is, almost every band.
Tennessee rockers Kings of Leon revealed in a recent interview with an English music magazine that they'd turned down a chance to have their music featured on the hit show for fear of "selling out", reports Entertainment Weekly.
The band members told NME that they have not seen the show though "apparently everybody loves it" said band member Jared Followill.
The band seems determined to maintain creative control over its music, popular trends be damned.
"We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly," said lead singer Caleb Followill. "We had some people call us up wanting to know if we'd allow 'Use Somebody' to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down."
The boys also rejected a cameo on ABC's "Ugly Betty."
"The wanted us to play ourselves," Caleb said. "We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other."
But it looks like the band went back on their word at least once. "Gossip Girl" used "Sex on Fire," "Closer," and, yes, "Use Somebody" in an episode of the show.
