Metta World Peace's “Dancing” Reign Ends on Week 1

World Peace will have to wait another day.

The Lakers star formerly known as Ron Artest, now Metta World Peace, was the first booted off the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“All I want to know is who’s coming with me?” he joked after learning his fate. Metta, as Artest says he now prefers to be called, went on to thank his pro-partner, Peta Murgatroyd.

Host Tom Bergeron praised Metta’s positive attitude and said the ballroom would miss “all the antics” to come should he have remained in the competition.

“We won’t lock you out of here,” Bergeron promised.

It wasn't a shock that Metta was cut, as he'd landed at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard on Monday with what judge Len Goodman called "atrocious" cha cha footwork.

Goodman said Tuesday that anything might have happened given another week of dance practice.

Metta's exit allowed TV legal analyst Nancy Grace and Rob Kardashian to survive. Each had also scored in the bottom tier of season 13 contestants and not known whether they would advance until the final moments of ABC's broadcast.

Leaderboard leaders Chynna Phillips and J.R. Martinez, the wounded Iraq war vet turned actor, got the green light to move on without incident on Tuesday.

Others returning for week two are: U.S. soccer star Hope Solo, talk show host Ricki Lake, ex-“Hills” starlet Kristin Cavallari, David Arquette, Chaz Bono, “Queer Eye” star Carson Kressley and Italian model and TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis.
