Britney Is A-OK

Spears talks with OK magazine a year after their disastrous day together

"I'm the healthiest I've been all my life," Britney Spears told OK! in a new interview that comes a year after a "heartbreaking day" she spent with the celebrity magazine.

Last July, when Spears was trying to put the pieces of her career back together, she approached the magazine about doing a photo shoot and interview. Spears was "completely out of it," used one dress worth thousands of dollars to wipe fried chicken grease off her hands and used another to clean up her dog's excrement, according to TMZ.

But this year it was a whole new Britney who talked with OK!, back in shape and in good spirits. She credited "lots of cardio and weights," plus some serious changes in her diet for the return of the figure that helped make her famous.

"Frappucinos -- gone," she laughed. "I do still drink coffee, but just with Equal."

She also cut out fruit and fruit juices -- "because of the sugar" -- and is eating lots of salmon, chicken and rice. She's got her daily calorie intake down to about 1,200.

"It may sound like it's not much, but it's actually a lot of food if you eat the right things," she adds.

Spears' last sit-down with OK!  was "a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears ... an emotional cry for help,"  said OK! Editor-in-Chief Sarah Ivens at the time.

As bad as Spears' behavior was , the photos from the day were so terrible that they weren't published for legal reasons, according to OK publicist Brian Strong.
