Tonight's GMHC Fashion Forward Benefit, hosted by Tim Gunn, will showcase the spring collections of this year's featured designers including, Diane von Furstenberg, Yigal Azrouel, Richard Chai, Narciso Rodriguez, Simon Spurr and Anna Sui.
The cocktail reception, auction and fashion show aims to raise both funds and awareness for the fight against AIDS, while honoring the fashion community's longstanding commitment to the cause.
The money goes to the Gay Men's Health Crisis non-profit, named for the early name of the AIDS virus, and evolved from the first-ever AIDS hotline set up in 1981, by a group of six men who feared the then-mysterious disease.
They continue their efforts today, amidst the strong support of the fashion industry—a stellar lineup of years' participants include Betsey Johnson, Rag & Bone, Peter Som, John Varvatos, Ports 1961, Charles Nolan, Andrew Buckler, Michael Bastian, John Bartlett, Heatherette, Perry Ellis and Tim Hamilton.
