Leave those blinking 2009 novelty glasses to the drunken, Thinsulate-wearing hordes on 42nd St. If your idea of New Year's Eve grandeur involves stepping back to a time of floor-length gowns, top hats, elbow gloves, and crystal stemware, the Golden Age of Hollywood NYE Extravaganza has your name written all over it (in sleek art deco lettering, natch).
Ladies, channel your inner Bette Davis or Myrna Loy; gents, this is your chance to get all Rudolph Valentino or Cary Grant for a night. There'll be burlesque courtesy of Miss Veruca Honeyscotch (pictured) and magic by Nelson Lugo, absinthe flowing and a full swing-style orchestra with Grandpa Musselman & his Syncopators (who are nobody's grandpa, but rather a klatch of cute young musicians excellently biting off Glenn Miller's schtick). And the whole high-tone affair takes place in the swellegant 19th-century Montauk Club -- modeled after a Venetian palazzo -- in Prospect Heights. 8PM to 2AM; Montauk Club, 25 Eighth Ave., Brooklyn.
