    CUT RATE: Think you need to plunk down crazy cash for some pricey Institute of Culinary Ed class to master knife skills that’d make Julia Child weep? Feh. Broadway Panhandler’s comprehensive knife skills seminar will have you chopping, julienning and even sharpening like a pro – for free. 6-7:30PM.

    LAST DANCE: She works hard for the… Listen, she’s Donna Freaking Summer, Disco Queen Extraordinaire, and she’ll rock Coney Island tonight as part of the Seaside Summer Concert Series – the last of the season, we might add. 7PM.

    A GIRL LIKE YOU: The 15th Annual J+R Music Fest kicks off in City Hall Park with a show by the Smithereens, who’ve been honing their catchy ’60s-ish garage rock sound for nearly three decades. They’re known for great live shows, too – this should be good summery fun. (And check the rest of the fest lineup for shows by singer-songwriter Diane Birch, Roy Hargrove and more.) 7PM.
