Cool Pic: Surfing Near-Miss

David Poller

The image, shot from the Ocean Beach pier, shows one surfer crowding the other.

An amazing pic captured just off Ocean Beach, California, shows two surfers getting oh, too close.

Local photographer David Poller was enjoying a Monday in Ocean Beach, taking pictures of people enjoying the coast. At one point, he was focusing on a man surfing and realized the surfer was getting a little too close to another. He leaned on his shutter and captured the near-miss happening right before his eyes.

Somehow, they avoided decapitation.

"Neither of the guys were injured and no one got aggro afterwards," Poller writes. "I think they were more surprised than anything else."

You can see the before and after pics and read along about what happened the moment this picture was captured in Poller's full blog post.
