Derek Jeter's Career Highlights Replayed In Lego-Like Tribute

Yet another company has posted a video bidding adieu to Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, this time recapping The Captain’s greatest hits and web gems using Lego-like building blocks.

Toy company OYO Sports, which sells sports-themed plastic building blocks, posted a stop-motion video using its figurines to recreate 10 of Jeter’s career highlights, showing everything from his first major-league hit in 1995 against the Mariners to the 2011 home run that catapulted him into baseball’s illustrious 3,000-hit club.

The video also puts a new spin on some of The Captain’s all-time classic plays, such as his dive into the stands for a foul ball against the Boston Red Sox in 2004.

OYO Sports’ video is the latest of several commercials and videos released in honor of Jeter’s final season.

Earlier this year, Nike posted a video titled “RE2PECT” showing Yankee fans, players, celebrities, NYPD and FDNY members and even a few Red Sox faithful tipping their hats to Jeter.

Last week, Gatorade unveiled a commercial showing Jeter taking a walk through the Bronx and greeting with fans set to the tune of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”
