School Bus Hits Car in Woodside, Queens

Six people were reported injured, but all were expected to be OK

    School bus accident in Woodside, Queens

    A school bus accident in the Woodside section of Queens injured six people, including four children on board the bus Monday evening.

    A school bus carrying four special needs children hit a sedan at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 55th Street at about 5:40 p.m., according to FDNY press officials. 

    The driver of the sedan had to be extricated from the vehicle.

    The four children on the bus sustained minor injuries, along with the bus driver. The driver of the second car appears to have sustained the most serious injuries, but everyone was expected to be OK.

    Officials said 31st Avenue in the area of 55th Street was closed as crews responded to the scene.
