Three people were hurt in a fire on the Upper West Side Monday evening, authorities say.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 472 West End Ave., near West 82nd Street, at about 7:20 p.m., the FDNY says. The two-alarm fire was on the fourth floor of the residential building and was threatening the fifth floor.

Of the three people injured, one refused medical attention at the scene and the others were taken to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital, one with minor injuries and the other with serious injuries, authorities say.

It's not clear what caused the fire.
