Two Long Island Teens Arrested for School Massacre Plot

Suffolk County Police have arrested two teenagers for conspiring to kill staff and students at Connetquot High School.

Cops obtained a cell phone and computer belonging to Dana Saltzman, 16, and determined that she and Christopher Franko, 17, planned to commit assaults at Connetquot High School in Bohemia.

Computer forensics revealed numerous searches had been made of websites for explosives and bomb making, police said. Cell phone text messages in which the two discussed their plans to buy guns and kill people were also allegedly discovered.
 
Franko is a former student of Connetquot High School and a graduate of the Eastern Suffolk Bellport Academic Center where he met Saltzman, where she is currently a student, authorities said.

Franko was arrested on May 6 and Saltzman was arrested on April 30.  They were both charged with Conspiracy in the 5th Degree.  Saltzman was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 1 where she was released on her own recognizance. Franko was arraigned today at First District Court, in Central Islip and was remanded to jail where he will remain until his next court date on June 8, 2010.

Police confirmed that Franko was also one of two teens was arrested in July 2007 for planning a similar attack on the same Connetquot High School.
