Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Tonight

Rainfall totals could top out over an inch in parts of the area, with some spots receiving up to 2 inches

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected for the tri-state overnight and into the morning, as Tuesday's clouds transition into rain.

Rainfall totals could top out over an inch in parts of the area, with some spots receiving up to 2 inches. 

The rain is expected to taper off by Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the high for the day at 69. 

Thursday should be nicer, with partial sunshine and a high of 77, though there is a possibility of a shower in the afternoon or evening. Friday is forecast to be partly sunny with a high of 78.

The week's best weather comes in time for the weekend, with lot of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday, and highs in the upper 70s.
