2 Men Arrested Trying to Scale Tappan Zee Bridge in the Middle of the Night

Two Queens men were arrested after police found them trying to climb the Tappan Zee bridge in the middle of the night to take photos, police said.

State police in Tarrytown were alerted around 2:30 a.m. Friday that two people were trying to climb the 3-mile bridge that carries the New York State Thruway over the Hudson River between Westchester and Rockland counties.

Troopers and local police responded and found two men, 27 and 28, walking along the deck of the bridge.

The pair are charged with reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

Police say they told officers they wanted to take pictures.
