Man Punched, Tried to Sexually Assault Rutgers Student: Police

The suspect walked up to the woman on Townsend Street between Livingston and Joyce Kilmer avenues in New Brunswick at around 2:30 a.m.

Rutgers Student Attacked Near Campus: Cops

Police say they are looking for a man who attacked and attempted to sexually assault a 24-year-old Rutgers University student near the school's campus early Friday.

The suspect walked up to the woman on Townsend Street between Livingston and Joyce Kilmer avenues in New Brunswick at around 2:30 a.m. and punched her in the face several times, officials said. The man also improperly touched the woman and attempted to further sexually assault her before fleeing when she kicked and screamed.

Anyone with information about the attack or the suspect is asked to call Investigator James Kelly of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3600, or Detective Ronoldy Martinez of the New Brunswick Police Department at (732) 745-5217.
