Connecticut police arrested a man on Monday suspected in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 21-year-old woman in Greenwich Saturday morning.
The victim, Meghan Beebe, of Middlebury, was struck around 2 a.m. in the William Street parking lot. Police said the driver stopped briefly, then fled scene in a red sedan.
After the crash, police were searching for a burgundy or dark red car, likely a Pontiac G6, with Connecticut license plates and tinted windows.
On Monday, police found a red 2006 Pontiac G6 back in the Williams Street parking lot. The owner of the car, a 26-year-old from Ridgefield,Conn. was arrested. He works at a local restaurant.
He was charged with evading a crash in which there was a serious physical injury. He is being held on a $500,000 court-set bond.
